Rare, wearable, and completely original 1920s gold lamé and black silk velvet dinner dress. Due to the invention of electricity, 1920s fashion was characterized by the onset of glittering clothes. Lamé fabric, referred to by couturiers as the 'Cloth of Gold', took the fashion world by storm in the 20s and was frequently used in designing evening outfits, fancy party dresses, and shawls. 

Made of metallic gold threads on a black silk ground, this lovely 1920s dress features a foliate pattern, long sleeves, v-neck with velvet tie, a self belt, and a ruffled velvet skirt with side slit. The tailoring and construction of this dress is impeccable. It features a built in satin and french lace slip, as well as snaps on the inside making the dress easy to get on and off. Beautiful shape with hand finishing. 

The perfect dress to wear to a holiday or dinner, or even to the opera, we are sure this 1920s dress will be a lovely addition to to your vintage clothing collection.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Minor tarnish on some metallic threads, some broken metallic threads on right cuff. Lining shows some discoloration but is in good condition. Fabric is strong and not shattering. Wearable.
