1930s Emerald Green Chiffon Bias Cut Gown
This product is unavailable
Vintage 1930s silk chiffon bias cut dress in a highly unusual and rare emerald green color. This sheer deco dress features a cowl back that drapes and hangs off the shoulders beautifully. Reminiscent of a Madeleine Vionnet gown, this gown is a fine example of the bias cut style so popular in Hollywood of the 1930s. This glamorous shape is created using yards of fabric cut on the bias (the grain hangs diagonal, rather than straight up and down)- making for a dress that stretches and hugs every woman's curves.
Two pointed hand-finished seams start on the hips and drape all the way down to the floor opening to a full and layered skirt while a deep v-neckline graces the bodice. A rare gown in excellent vintage condition - we are sure you will enjoy this gown however you choose to wear it.
Waist (slightly dropped): 30-32"
Hips: 36-40" (bias cut)
Label: None. Handmade.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition for the item's age- showing some minor wear-- The flaws to this dress are not too visible, with only two or three pin sized holes in the chiffon and a few very light water or age spots. See the last 3 photos for more info. There is a patched tear on the bottom of the skirt (again, not too noticeable unless you are really looking).
