This vintage 1950s Mexican embroidered maxi skirt was handmade in Oaxaca, Mexico and is a fine example of traditional Mexican textiles. Produced by the "La Tienda" brand, these skirts were made for and sold to traveling tourists during the 1950s. These handmade skirts were typically made of natural fibers and dyes, and were frequently made by local indigenous tribes, whose communities are concentrated in the center and south of the country in states such as Mexico State, Oaxaca and Chiapas.

A beautiful and wearable piece of textile art, this stunning oxblood colored embroidered Mexican skirt is easy to wear and looks great during all seasons, summer or fall. The skirt features several strong graphic patterns, including a graphic swirl pattern stitched onto the bottom of the skirt. Made of a hand woven cotton canvas, this skirt was originally purchased at the Hotel Victoria in Oaxaca Mexico.
