Absolutely fabulous and rare 1930s Italian made silk velvet jewel-tone blue striae gown. Striae velvet is an Italian term for a type of velvet that means "little lines." If you look close, you can see that this dress has a diagonal pattern of lines on the skirt and horizontal on the bodice. This velvet is frequently used in upholstery, and it is rare to see it so beautifully done in a Hollywood style gown. Exuding glamour, this bias cut dress features batwing style sleeves, a nipped waist, a peephole in the neck and back, and an absolutely stunning ruffled hem. Enjoy the elegant 1930s detailing of long sleeves, a rolled collar in the front, and a pointed collar in the back.

Even more beautiful in person, this gown exudes Old Hollywood glamour and is just a stunning dress to add to your vintage collection. The fabric is so soft you will never want to take it off!

Size & Fit: Small with some stretch due to the bias cut. Slips on without zippers or closures.

Bust: 32-36"
Waist: up to 28"
Hips: up to 40"
Length: 53"

Era: 1930s

Condition: Very good wearable vintage condition with some visible wear. There are two small flaws on this dress, and the dress has been priced accordingly. The first flaw is that there is a snag in the velvet right underneath the bust line, and the second is there is a stain/water mark on the very back of the dress near the right hip. These flaws are slightly hidden due to the thick nap of the velvet. Depending on how you brush the nap of the velvet, you can see these flaws or not at all. Similar dresses of this style sell for roughly $500-$1000.
