Amazing and rare 1920s Devoré Silk Velvet Dress featuring a rare art deco design of triangles and shapes. Also known as "burnout" velvet; devoré velvet originated from France and was all the rage in the 1920s. As you can see in the photos, the fabric features several cut-outs of velvet triangles against a chiffon backing. This technique is produced by applying a chemical gel to silk velvet, which eats away at the cellulose-based fibers leaving a lovely velvet pattern behind not affected by the chemical.

This dramatic evening dress features a wide pointy collar and a lovely loose fit. Throw this on over a contrasting slip and some leggings for a cool fall or winter evening. The fabric is so soft and light - it drapes wonderfully.

Size/Fit: Loose fit. Can fit a number of sizes depending on how loose you would like this to fit.

Measurements:
Bust: 39"
