A strikingly similar dress to the one Cyd Charisse wore in a 1961 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, this rare and beautiful gown designed by the iconic Adele Simpson is a wonderful item of fashion history.

Adele Simpson was a very important designer for Post WWII fashion. Simpson studied fashion in NY at Pratt Institute and she grew to be one of the most respected designers in American History having created very functional and classy silhouettes for women, at a reasonable RTW price point.

The gown has a simple, slim and long silhouette which is accented by two layers of chiffon that fall gracefully. Underneath these layers of chiffon lie a fully lined chiffon layer which is fitted on the body. Three rows of rhinestones sewn in a line create the straps which lead to an empire waist bust. Perfect for showing off beautiful jewelry and a simple heel, this lovely Audrey Hepburn style gown is surely a dress you will cherish forever.
